Beneficiaries on waiting list in Pateros start receiving SAP aid
Pateros started the distribution of cash aid under the government’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP) to beneficiaries on waiting list of the first tranche according to Mayor Miguel Ponce III.
Qualified beneficiaries in Bgy. San Pedro, Poblacion, Magtanggol, and Tabacalera will receive cash aid to be distributed at the Sto. Rosario Kanluran covered court from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The municipal government released the names of more than 900 beneficiaries in the different barangays.
“Hindi po iyong nabigyan na ng unang P8,000 at naghihintay pa na mabigyan ng panibagong P8,000 sa second tranche (This is not for those who already received P8,000 who are waiting to receive another P8,000 under the second tranche),” Ponce advised people in a video.
He said those waiting for the second tranche will eventually be given cash aid by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Residents of each barangay have an allotted time to collect their SAP cash aid and Ponce told them to go to the venue at the exact time of their schedule due to social distancing rules.
“Don’t go there early. Go there at the exact time (of your schedule),” he said. Ponce said based on the list that was given to the municipal government, there are some people listed who had already received P8,000 in the first tranche.
“Ang pakiusap ko po sa inyo, kung makikita ninyo ang pangalan ninyo sa listahan na nilathala ngayon na babayaran bukas at kayo ay nakatanggap na ng unang P8,000 dahil kasama kayo sa unang set ng benepisyaryo ay huwag na po kayong magpunta (I am requesting that if you see your name on the list that was posted and you already received the first P8,000 because you were included in the first set of beneficiaries, please don’t go to the venue),” the mayor said.
He warned them that they run the risk of getting slapped with criminal case for estafa if they get the money intended for those on the waiting list.
“Baka hindi pa po kayo mabigyan ng pangalawang P8,000. Magkakaroon kayo ng problema dahil madedemanda pa kayo ng estafa. Magkakaroon pa po tayo ng criminal case kapag tayo po ay natugis ng DSWD dahil hindi naman po natin maikakaila ito at lalabas at lalabas po sa record ito (You might not get the second P8,000. You will have a problem because you will be charged with estafa. You will face a criminal case if you are pursued by DSWD because you cannot deny and records will show this), Ponce said.
