The Pateros municipal jail began implementing the non-contact jail visitation starting on May 21, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

Under this policy, visitors can see persons deprived of liberty (PDL) at the facility but without any physical contact. They can talk through phones.

The municipal jail said the following can avail of the non-contact visit: Immediate family (father, mother, siblings, husband, wife, common-law husband/wife) except minors; lawyers/legal counsel; doctors/physicians; priest or religious minister; service providers; and non-governmental organization (NGO) duly accredited by Commission on Human Rights (CHR) and Office of the President.

They need to bring a government-issued ID, vaccination card (full dose with booster), online registration, marriage certificate or certificate of cohabitation from the barangay and face mask.

Visitors need to present their online registration appointment and ID at the command post or triage area. They need to sign the visitor’s log and have themselves checked by a nurse or health officer for temperature. They will undergo body search and get a queue number. Only five visitors will be allowed at the same time at the visitation area.

The municipal jail said foods and drinks are not allowed inside the no-contract visitation area and minors are not allowed to visit.

“Uttering and/or showing lewd and lascivious physical expressions in any form, wearing a provocative dress such as sleeveless, plunging necklines, short shorts and skirts are not allowed,” according to a Facebook post by the municipal jail.

Non-contact visits are allowed from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday for PDLs in Dorms 1 and 3 of the facility, and Wednesday and Friday for Dorm 2.
