The Department of Health (DOH) has recognized the Pateros municipal government for fully vaccinating 100 percent of the target eligible population, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

Pateros Mayor Miguel “Ike” Ponce III received a certificate of recognition from the DOH for its vaccination efforts.

“This Certificate of Recognition is hereby awarded to Municipality of Pateros for its outstanding performance and attainment of 100% COVID-19 vaccination coverage of the targeted eligible population towards a safe and protected National Capital Region,” the certificate read, signed by Dr. Gloria Balboa, regional director of the DOH’s Metro Manila Center for Health Development.

Pateros’ estimated population is 70,000 and the Pateros municipal government increased the target eligible population for vaccination to 80 percent, or 56,000 people, from the previous 70 percent, or 49,000.

Ponce said last Dec. 6 that they have already fully vaccinated around 96 percent, or about 67,200, of the adult population in Pateros, according to CNN Philippines.

For minors aged 12 to 17, the mayor said 75 percent have received the first dose and 44 percent are now fully vaccinated.

A Nov. 24 update by the Pateros municipal government provided to Manila Bulletin showed that 65,058 adults or 116 percent of the target eligible population and 93 percent of the total population have received the first dose.

In addition, 62,468 or 111.55 percent of the target population and 89 percent of the total population of Pateros have been fully vaccinated.

The Pateros municipal government has not made any public posts about its vaccination numbers in months. Its last update on its official Facebook page was in August.
